Introduction:

The objective of this lab was to carry out a systematic group of experiments in order to determine which will combination of chemicals produce the brightest and longest enduring light, through chemiluminescence. Chemiluminescence can be defined as the emission of sunshine by a reaction that does not create heat. Chemiluminescence can also be found in nature, where it is known as bioluminescence. This can often be found in many profound sea seafood, algae, and fireflies. Luminol is among the list of chemicals which can be used to create chemiluminescence outside of nature. Scientists are incredibly interested chemiluminescence because it could possibly be very helpful in many real life situations such as in glowsticks. The military uses high-grade glowsticks to have mild in field situations where electricity is impossible. Marine biologists and profound sea technical scuba divers also use these glow stays to provide mild and make new discoveries in the deeps of the ocean or underwater caves. Through the chemiluminescence experiment the objective was to generate light throughout a series of tests in order to make light or a glow. To do this methodically, all chemical substances were utilized to start as it became evident that a lot of chemicals would not effect the end result of selected trials they were eliminated one-by-one. Because the trials were done systematically in one to the next, only one element of every trial was changed at any given time, making it easy to single out the defining factors. There were various chemicals employed during this try things out including Luminol, bleach, DMSO, NaOH, HCl, and H2O2. On the second day of trials, the Luminol was chilled to try the effects this may have for the glow we obtained through chemical reactions.
